A COUNTY restaurant has been named as among the best in the world by a renowned website.
Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best recognises some of the top destinations, beaches, hotels, restaurants and things to do.
Among the restaurants that won favour with customers was Gurkha Bar and Restaurant in Musselburgh.
The restaurant, on the town’s North High Street, was last year named ‘Best Restaurant’ in east Scotland at the fourth annual Spice Awards.

Now, it has another accolade to add to its collection.
The restaurant, which specialises in Nepalese and Indian cuisine, was one of 10 restaurants from throughout Britain – and the only one in Scotland – listed as a hidden gem.
A spokesperson for Tripadvisor said: “We award Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best to restaurants with a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from our community over a 12-month period.
“Each winner has passed our rigorous trust and safety standards. Fewer than one per cent of Tripadvisor’s eight million listings are awarded Best of the Best, signifying the highest level of excellence in travel.
“Congrats to all of the winners and a big thanks to the travellers who made it possible.”
