IMAGES showing how a replacement bridge at the heart of Musselburgh could look have been revealed.

Long-awaited flood defence plans were revealed to residents of the town yesterday (Tuesday).

A two-day exhibition detailing outline designs for the Musselburgh Flood Protection Scheme comes to a close this evening at 8pm.

The team behind the scheme say it will provide "formal flood protection to around 3,000 properties at risk from a major flood event".

Among the steps being proposed is the replacement of four bridges in the town.

That includes the Goosegreen Bridge, which connects Eskside East to New Street on the opposite side of the river.
