Sir Mark Prescott’s Consent goes in search of a first victory of the season in Germany on Saturday when she runs in the Grosser Allianz Preis von Bayern.

The Munich Group One, which has also attracted the Owen Burrows-trained Gethin, was won by George Scott’s Bay City Roller 12 months ago.

Consent ended last season as a Group One winner herself having won the Prix de Royallieu on Arc weekend but she has been a slow burner this year, gradually returning to her best when second in the Prix Royal-Oak to Queenstown.

Prescott said: “She’s on her way to Germany and she runs in the Group One in Munich on Saturday.

“It’s a very quick turnaround but Amelia Earhart, who ran in the same race (Royal-Oak), won the Group Three at the Curragh on Sunday. She didn’t have to travel to Germany to do it of course, but it’s obviously a quick turnaround for both of them and I hope I do as well as Aidan (O’Brien) anyway!”

When asked whether Consent would be retired after this weekend’s race, the trainer added: “I don’t know, I think Prince Faisal (of owners Denford Stud) is half-minded to keep her in training as a five-year-old. I suspect it might depend on how we get on on Saturday.”
