FIVE-STAR Marley Mackenzie made it five wins from six to strengthen his position at the top of the standings.
The Aberlady teenager was among those taking to the grid at Knockhill over the weekend.
And it proved a near-flawless event for Mackenzie, who qualified in pole position in both races before taking the chequered flag on both occasions as well.
Proud dad Chris was full of praise for the racer.
He said: “Prior to the weekend, the plan was always to take full advantage of being on home ground at a track where he has done more laps than the other tracks he goes to down south. It was to take full advantage of that and he certainly did that with great effect.
“To win a race by 10 seconds was pretty impressive and a personal best.”
Marley, 17, had taken two wins out of two at the season’s opener at Oulton Park at the beginning of May. That was followed up by victory in race one at Donington Park before coming home third in the second race of the weekend.
And results at the Fife circuit on Saturday and Sunday mean his lead over Ben Jolliffe has jumped from eight points to 32.
Marley’s dad was pleased with the standings but stressed that there were still 10 races to go, with the season coming to a close at the end of October.
He said: “I think the good thing about him is his focus.
“He goes off on his own an hour before the race starts and gets in the zone. He does his exercises, concentration and listens to some music and stuff like that.
“It shows that he is fully focused and, when he is on the grid, we don’t say very much between us.
“He is very much fully focused on the job at hand.”
Next weekend (July 3-5) brings a long trip south of the Border to Snetterton.
The former RAF airfield promises quick action, with North Berwick High School pupil Marley and the Kawasaki team looking to further their domination of the National Junior Sportbike Championship.
Chris said: “We did a no-limits racing round at Snetterton early in the year.
“That went fine and he likes the track.”
