Everything you need to know ahead of Josh Taylor fight

The East Lothian boxer, who is joined in Glasgow by fellow county star Lee McGregor, steps into the ring to face Ekow Essuman.

Taylor unified the light-welterweight division in 2021 but comes into the bout in Glasgow on the back of consecutive defeats.

The move up to welterweight means he will face Ekowman, who has lost just once in 22 fights.

Meanwhile, McGregor will face off against Nathaniel Collins on the undercard.

The winner of the contest will take a step closer to fighting for a world title.

Where is the fight taking place?

Taylor and McGregor are fighting at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro.

It is the first time Taylor, who grew up in Prestonpans and now lives in Haddington, has fought in the venue since a victory over Jack Catterall in February 2022.

Meanwhile, McGregor, who lives in Blindwells, defeated Brett Fidoe in the arena back in May 2019.

What time does the action get under way?

The coverage of the boxing is due to get under way at 7pm. It is thought that Taylor will fight at about 10pm – depending on the length of the undercard bouts.

How can I watch?

The card is being screened live on DAZN. It is not a pay-per-view event.
