THREE Haddington athletes have been competing against the best in the country after reaching the National Indoor Championships.

The event, which was held in Grangemouth earlier this month, featured a number of talented athletes.

First up, Archie Brown competed in the under-13 boys’ long jump.

He managed six clean, consistent jumps and his furthest leap of 4.51m was good enough to see him win the silver medal.

Branna Kenny was next up in the girls’ under-13 60m hurdles.

She ran fast in her heats to finish third with a time of 10.84s, which saw her reach the final.

Again, she performed well and came home in sixth place.

The final event of the day was the under-13 boys’ 60m sprint, where both Brown and Munro Paschke were competing.

Paschke came a close second in his heat, running a personal-best time of 8.61s to qualify for the final.

Meanwhile, Brown won his heat, also in a personal-best time of 8.55s, to gain his place in the final.

Both boys ran extremely well in a very competitive final, as Brown finished fourth with another personal best of 8.48s and his club-mate Paschke was close behind in fifth.

Now, they are looking towards the outdoor season and, hopefully, more medals and personal bests.
