DUNBAR United are just 90 minutes away from a cup final after a dramatic penalty shootout win last night (Tuesday).

The Seasiders had taken an early lead against Stirling University in the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup through a Kyle Somers strike within the first five minutes.

However, a late leveller from the visitors to New Countess Park ensured the game went to extra time.

Neither team could find a winner and it came down to spot kicks.

Goalkeeper Sean Brennan pulled off two impressive saves before stepping up to send his rival shotstopper the wrong way and put Dunbar through.

Kevin Haynes and his team will travel to Dunipace in the semi-finals with the winner going on to take on either Broxburn Athletic or Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts in the final.

West Lothian’s Broxburn secured their place in the last four with a late, late winner against Tranent last night.

That came after the county side had missed a penalty of their own through Kallum Higginbotham.
