A FAMILY has dominated a special squash event in Edinburgh.

Isla Hamilton won Division Two while sister Phoebe Hamilton won Division Three and their mum Katie Hamilton, playing in her first ladies’ tournament, won all her matches in Division Four at the WISPS event (Women in Sport Play Squash) held at Abercorn Squash Club in Edinburgh.

Meanwhile, in the West of Scotland Bronze event, David Hunter came second in Division One, while Phoebe Hamilton came third and Isla Hamilton placed fourth.

In the Central District Squash Championships, Fraser Westgarth came second in the under-15 event, narrowly losing 11-9 in the fifth game.

Finally, Hamish Westgarth had a hard time in the under-11 event but had good wins against two other nine-year-old opponents.

However, the performance of Rory Westgarth was outstanding as the six-year-old won all four of his matches in the under-nine event.

Junior coaching continues at Tyne District Squash and Racketball Club in Haddington on Fridays from 1.30pm and all are welcome.
