THREE fixtures involving East Lothian teams have been postponed in what was shaping up to be an important weekend for the clubs.

Musselburgh Athletic's trip to Crossgates Primrose is off, as is Preston Athletic versus Whitehill Welfare.

In the Second Division, Ormiston Primrose had been due to welcome Dalkeith Thistle but the game has been postponed.

That leaves Tranent Juniors, who travel to Dumbarton to face Rangers B in what is a crucial game in the race for the Scottish Lowland Football League (SLFL) title.

In the top flight of the East of Scotland Football League (EoSFL), Haddington Athletic will look to continue their impressive form against Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale.

The top two meet in the First Division as Dunbar United host Newtongrange Star.

Tranent’s game kicks off at 3pm, with the EoSFL matches starting at 2.30pm.

JUST four points separate Tranent Juniors and Rangers B at the top of the SLFL.

The title race looks like going down to the wire with Spartans, Stirling University and Celtic B all hoping to be crowned champions.

The Old Firm duo are not eligible for promotion, leaving the other three clubs to battle for the chance to face the winners of the Scottish Highland Football League.

Tranent Juniors boss Colin Nish has predicted plenty of twists and turns over the remaining fixtures and he will be hoping for a positive result.

The spoils were shared between the two sides when they met at Foresters Park earlier in the season.

AN UNBEATEN run stretching to seven games has fired Haddington Athletic up the table in recent weeks.

Scott Bonar’s men defeated bottom side Vale of Leithen last weekend and now sit in eighth spot with a chance to really put the pressure on those above them.

Victory could be enough to move them above Dundonald Bluebell and Penicuik Athletic.

However, they are up against a Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale side buoyed by a surprise victory over champions-elect Linlithgow Rose.

Haddington won the reverse fixture 1-0 and it could prove to be another tight contest.

FIRST plays second at the top of the First Division table as Dunbar travel to Newtongrange Star.

The Seasiders have opened up a 10-point gap at the top of the table as they look for an immediate return to the top flight.

However, the Midlothian team can narrow the gap to seven with victory today and close it further if they win their game in hand.

In contrast, a 16th league win in 20 fixtures would see Kevin Haynes and his team move to 13 points clear.
