THE wait for a league win for East Lothian’s lady bowlers is finally over, writes Matt Osborne.
The ladies had not won in their opening five fixtures but set the record straight with an 84-49 triumph over Midlothian.
Wins across all rinks for Dee Hoggan (+22), Beth Riva (+8) and Lauren Baillie Whyte (+5) saw East Lothian climb off the foot of the table.
They next welcome Balbardie to Meadowmill on Saturday (February 18).
Elsewhere, the gents slipped to their third defeat of their league campaign at the hands of Midlothian.
The home side were keen to rectify their sole defeat of the season and set a blistering pace, opening a 30-shot lead after just five ends. It would prove to be a lead they would increase by end 10.
Strong performances from the home side across the carpet saw them increase their lead at the top of the table with a 91-58 win.
