KNOCKOUT football is on the agenda for three East Lothian football clubs this afternoon (Saturday).

Dunbar United, Tranent Juniors and Ormiston Primrose are all in action while Haddington Athletic, Musselburgh Athletic and Preston Athletic have a free weekend.

For the Seasiders, it is the Scottish Cup and the visit of the University of Stirling.

Both Tranent and Ormiston face trips out of the county in the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup.

Tranent travel to Penicuik while Ormiston head to Dundonald Bluebell; both matches kick-off at 2.30pm.

Dunbar’s game kicks off at 3pm.

Match of the Day

Dunbar United v University of Stirling

Scottish Cup

Dunbar United last five games: WWWDL

ONE defeat in five means Dunbar come into the second round of the Scottish Cup full of confidence.

There is a chance for the team to write themselves into the history books as they welcome the University of Stirling.

The Seasiders are looking to go one better than their debut in the competition last season when they lost out in the second round.

It will be a tough task against a Scottish Lowland Football League (SLFL) side – two tiers above Dunbar.

However, with victories over Vale of Leithen and Clachnacuddin, and the fact they top the East of Scotland Football League First Division, means Kevin Haynes and his team will be out to spring a surprise.

Penicuik Athletic v Tranent Juniors

East of Scotland Qualifying Cup

Tranent Juniors last five games: WLWLW

FOR the majority of last season, Penicuik Athletic and Tranent Juniors battled it out at the top of the East of Scotland Football League (EoSFL) Premier Division.

It came down to the last game to decide the winners as Tranent defeated Jeanfield Swifts to be crowned champions.

The Belters – under the management of Calum Elliot – would gain promotion to the SLFL while Penicuik are already looking like one of the favourites to join them this season.

Now managed by former Hibs striker Colin Nish, Tranent will be looking for back-to-back cup wins after defeating Haddington Athletic last weekend in the South Region Challenge Cup.

Dundonald Bluebell v Ormiston Primrose

East of Scotland Qualifying Cup

Ormiston Primrose last five games: LLLLD

VICTORIES have been hard to come by recently for Ormiston Primrose.

The EoSFL Second Division side lost out to Stoneyburn Juniors last weekend in the South Region Challenge Cup.

Two second half goals for the West Lothian side turned the game on its head after Ormiston had taken the lead.

Now, they face a real challenge as they take on EoSFL Premier Division side Dundonald Bluebell.

The Fife outfit were 8-0 winners at Lochore Welfare last weekend and sit fourth in the top flight of the EoSFL.
