A NEW era begins for Tranent Juniors at East Stirlingshire.

The Belters appointed Colin Nish as their new manager earlier this week following the departure of Calum Elliot.

His first game at the helm comes against the former Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) side.

Elsewhere, it is an away day for four of the remaining five county clubs.

In the East of Scotland Football League (EoSFL) Premier Division, Musselburgh Athletic travel to Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts while Haddington Athletic head to Dundonald Bluebell.

There are away trips in the First Division as well.

Preston Athletic head to Camelon while Dunbar United look to continue their unbeaten form at Kennoway Star Hearts.

Finally, Ormiston Primrose are at home as they host Stirling University Reserves.

Musselburgh’s match kicks off at 2pm, with the remaining EoSFL contests starting at 2.30pm and Tranent’s match getting under way at 3pm.

Match of the Day

East Stirlingshire v Tranent Juniors

Scottish Lowland Football League

Tranent Juniors last five games: DWWDW

COLIN Nish’s reign as Tranent Juniors manager begins at The Falkirk Stadium this afternoon (Saturday).

The Belters have picked up four points out of a possible six since Calum Elliot’s shock departure from the club last month.

Now, they will be hoping to continue that impressive form when they face the Shire.

Tranent sit seventh in the table, eight points behind leaders Rangers B and East Kilbride but with two games in hand.

In contrast, Shire are yet to win any of their opening seven league games.

They have drawn four of those matches, with the latest of those coming against East Kilbride.

Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts v Musselburgh Athletic

East of Scotland Football League Premier Division

Musselburgh Athletic last five games: WWLWD

INCONSISTENT Musselburgh Athletic are looking to make it three wins in a row.

Joe Hamill’s team have already beaten high-flying Penicuik Athletic and Linlithgow Rose this term.

However, they have also dropped points and find themselves in the bottom half of the table after four games.

A trip to Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts presents a challenging contest with the Fife side having won four of their opening five games.

A performance like that against Penicuik last weekend could result in Hamill’s men celebrating moving up the table.

Dundonald Bluebell v Haddington Athletic

East of Scotland Football League Premier Division

Haddington Athletic last five games: DLLLL

PLAYER unavailability has been a real issue so far this season for Haddington Athletic.

The Hi Hi sit one point and one place better off than county rivals Musselburgh Athletic having played a game more.

Scott Bonar has found his squad stretched on occasions and will be hoping for better luck as they head to Fife.

Their opponents, Dundonald Bluebell, have enjoyed a promising start to the campaign having taken 12 points from a possible 15.

Camelon Juniors v Preston Athletic

East of Scotland Football League First Division

Preston Athletic last five games: LLWWD

BACK-TO-BACK cup defeats has stalled Preston Athletic’s momentum in recent weeks.

The Panners were hit with a late sucker punch against Newton Stewart on Saturday but will be looking to put that behind them.

They head to Carmuirs Park looking to return to the league form that had lifted them up the table.

Camelon have won one of their four opening league encounters but will be boosted by a 4-1 win at Whitehill Welfare in the Scottish Cup.

Kennoway Star Hearts v Dunbar United

East of Scotland Football League First Division

Dunbar United last five games: DWWWW

KEVIN Haynes and his team suffered their first blip on Tuesday evening as they dropped points to Coldstream.

The Borders side had not picked up a point from their opening three league games but the spoils were shared in a 2-2 draw.

Dunbar now trail early pacesetters Luncarty by two points and will be looking to get back to winning ways.

A trip to second bottom Kennoway Star Hearts should present a good chance to do just that but they will be cautious of avoiding dropping points as they did in midweek.

Ormiston Primrose v Stirling University Reserves

East of Scotland Football League Second Division

Ormiston Primrose last five games: LLDWL

DEFEAT to Arniston Rangers on Tuesday evening saw Ormiston Primrose slip to three games without a win.

Richie Weir’s men have found goals easier to come by than last season and will be hoping that continues to be the case against Stirling University Reserves.

The visitors to New Recreation Park sit sixth in the Second Division table with 10 points.

Three wins from the opening six games show their own inconsistencies but Ormiston will need to be approaching their best to spring a surprise.
