TWO cup competitions and league points are contested for East Lothian’s football teams over Saturday and Sunday.
Haddington Athletic travel to Fife to face Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts in the East of Scotland Football League Premier Division in a 2pm kick-off.
For the other teams, cup action takes centre stage in 2.30pm kick offs.
Ormiston Primrose welcome Easthouses Lily to New Recreation Park while Dunbar United venture south to Tweedmouth Rangers in the South Challenge Cup.
Tranent Juniors are also in South Challenge Cup action but they have to wait until Sunday to face Armadale Thistle in West Lothian.
Finally, Preston Athletic and Musselburgh Athletic lock horns in the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup.
Match of the day
Preston Athletic v Musselburgh Athletic
East of Scotland Qualifying Cup
AN EAST Lothian derby takes centre stage as Preston Athletic welcome Musselburgh Athletic to the Pennypit.
The two sides met in pre-season with the Burgh emerging as 4-2 winners.
However, more is at stake now as the two teams attempt to progress in the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup.
Preston, managed by Paul Currie and Paul Montgomery, come into the game unbeaten in four.
That has included back-to-back wins over Rosyth and Coldstream at the Pennypit in the First Division.
Meanwhile, Joe Hamill’s Musselburgh sit 10th in the Premier Division after two defeats from their opening four games.
Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts v Haddington Athletic
East of Scotland Football League Premier Division
BACK-TO-BACK defeats are not something Haddington fans have been accustomed to in the last couple of years.
The Hi His were disappointing against West Calder United in the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup earlier this month as they lost in extra time.
Last weekend, they were narrowly edged out as they lost to Crossgates Primrose in the league at Millfield.
Three points in one of only four top flight games today (Saturday) would be most welcome.
Their hosts come into the game with maximum points from their three league encounters.
Their only defeat this campaign came to Heriot Watt University in the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup.
South Challenge Cup
Ormiston Primrose v Easthouses Lily
WINLESS Easthouses Lily make the trip to New Recreation Park looking for their first victory of the campaign.
In contrast, Ormiston Primrose are looking to savour that winning feeling for the third time this campaign.
The two Second Division sides are near the bottom of the standings but the county side have enjoyed a 4-0 win over Hawick Royal Albert.
Their opposition have drawn two of their three league games this season, picking up points against Peebles Rovers and Craigroyston.
South Challenge Cup
Tweedmouth Rangers v Dunbar United
UNBEATEN Dunbar United head south looking to make it four wins out of four this campaign.
The Seasiders have bounced back from relegation from the top flight to make an impressive start to life in the First Division.
Kevin Haynes and his team will be favourites to progress in the competition as they head to Tweedmouth, who have won one of their four Second Division encounters.
That came against Stirling University earlier this month.
South Challenge Cup
Armadale Thistle v Tranent Juniors
TRANENT Juniors head to West Lothian on Sunday to face off against Armadale Thistle.
The game is being played in Bathgate while Armadale’s home ground becomes home to an artificial surface.
The Belters will go in as favourites given their Scottish Lowland Football League status.
However, the West Lothian hosts are among the favourites for promotion from the EoSFL Third Division.
The victors will go on to face Haddington Athletic in the next round.
