ANGUS Carrick has won an all-East Lothian final to be crowned the winner of the Scottish Men's Amateur Match Play Championship.

The Craigielaw golfer was up against Connor Wilson, of Castle Park, in the final of the tournament at Murcar Links, north of Aberdeen.

The three-day competition came to a close this afternoon (Saturday), with Carrick winning two up.

The two golfers had come through five rounds to reach the final.

Twenty-seven-year-old Carrick previously reached the quarter-finals at Muirfield in 2015 and was delighted to go one further when he reached the last four.

However, he kept his cool in the final, despite trailing by one at the halfway stage.
