HISTORY has been made after Preston Lodge High School lifted a piece of national silverware.
The secondary school took on St Maurice’s High School, of Cumbernauld, in the rearranged final of the Scottish Schools’ Football Association’s under-15 Shield.
With the scores level after 90 minutes, it was the teenagers from Preston Lodge who kept their cool to win 4-3 in a tense penalty shootout at Airdrie’s Penny Cars Stadium.
Gavin Clark, headteacher at Preston Lodge High School, said: “It is an amazing achievement for the boys, and we are all incredibly proud of everything they have done to represent our community around the country.
“They are a really likable group of young men with enormous talent, and we are really delighted that they have done so well.
“They have made us all proud to be PL.”
