Tranent Amateur Swimming Club (TASC) celebrated their annual club championships with a busy afternoon of swimming at the Loch Centre.

Swimmers from each of the club’s four squads and East Lothian Swim Team came together to mark the occasion with impressive performances in the pool and great team camaraderie outside it.

In the evening, the swimmers returned for the presentation evening where the medals were awarded and trophies presented.

The winner of the highly contested Tom Cunningham Memorial Shield was decided earlier in the day with Zara Menzies coming out on top.

That wasn’t Menzies’ only victory as she was also awarded the Christine Howson Shield for Most Improved Junior having shown considerable improvement over the past year.

The Peter Milburn Shield for Most Improved Senior was awarded to Grace Hanak after a year in which she has progressed greatly.

The Tim Dixon Shield for Best Newcomer was awarded to Flick Thomson, who has settled into the club well in the past few months and has shown the desire to improve and learn from her coaches.

The McManus-Pryde Merit Award was awarded to Stuart Inglis, who impressed the club with his mindset and effort in training in the past year, working hard to improve and develop his swimming to a high level.

The club also appointed new club captains, with Abigail Dall and Amber Devin being awarded the roles.

Both girls have swum with the club for a number of years and are now also helping out on poolside with their younger team-mates.
