ALEX Marshall’s quest for a seventh World Indoor Singles title has ended at the second round stage.
The Tranent bowler has lifted the title on six previous occasions but came unstuck against 2016 champion Nicky Brett.
The Englishman took the first set 12-0 before Marshall fought back to level things up after winning the second set 9-4.
However, in the tie-break, it was Brett who emerged victorious 2-1 to progress.
Marshall, along with Paul Foster, defeated Brett and Greg Harlow in the final of the Pairs competition earlier in the week.
