BOWLS legend Alex Marshall has opened his Commonwealth Games campaign with victory in the men's pairs.
Tranent resident Marshall and his close friend Paul Foster, a former East Lothian player, saw off a team from Niue - a small island nation in the South Pacific Ocean - this morning (Thursday).
They ran out 14-11 winners on the first day of competition on Australia's Gold Coast.
More good results in the afternoon session.
