COUNTY rugby stars Huw Jones and Rory Darge have retained their places in the Scotland & U20s teams for the final round of the NatWest Six Nations.

Musselburgh-born centre Jones has been picked once more at outside centre in the Scotland team to play Italy in Rome on Saturday.

Jones, 24, has scored three tries in this year's championship but was off-colour in the 28-8 loss to Ireland last weekend.

He spurned a glorious chance to score when his pass failed to find Stuart Hogg after Jones had broken clear up the wing.

He will hope to bounce back in the Italian capital, and is part of a side showing five changes from the loss to Ireland.

Fraser Brown, Willem Nel, Tim Swinson and Nick Grigg are all promoted from the bench to the run-on XV, while the fit-again Tommy Seymour  returns at the expense of Scotland's try-scorer in Dublin, Blair Kinghorn.

Richie Gray and Zander Fagerson return on the bench, where there are places for the dropped Stuart McInally, Pete Horne and Kinghorn.

Former Pinkie Road resident Jones will hope to avoid a repeat of the hamstring injury he suffered in Scotland's 29-0 win over the Italians at BT Murrayfield on the final day of last year's championship.

East Lothian Courier:

A win in Rome would equal Scotland's tally of three wins from last year's championship, following home successes over France and England.

The game in Rome kicks off at 12.30pm on Saturday and is live on ITV.

Darge, meanwhile, wears the number 7 jersey for the U20s side following an impressive outing on his first start at that level in the 30-25 loss to Ireland.

The U20s have made two changes, with wing Logan Trotter and hooker Paul Cairncross coming into the side for the injured Rory McMichael and captain Robbie Smith; Stafford McDowell takes over the captaincy.

The U20s are in action at Bari’s Stadio della Vittoria from 3pm on Friday.
