A NORTH Berwick High School pupil claimed a badminton title on Friday.
Basia Gordynska, a sixth-year pupil at the school, claimed the girls’ doubles title at the Under-19 West of Scotland Junior Championships at the Sir Craig Reedie Badminton Scotland Centre in Glasgow.
She was a late replacement in the doubles, called in to partner Holly Newell (Mauchline) as the pair performed superbly to reach the final.
There, they faced top seeds Eleanor O’Donnell and Ciara Torrance, but another excellent display saw them recover from a set down to win 16-21, 21-14, 21-12 and claim the title.
