UNDEFEATED Prestonpans boxing star Josh Taylor will step back into the ring tonight (Friday) for his third fight since turning professional this year.

‘The Tartan Tornado’ will appear on the undercard of stable-mate Conrad Cummings’ fight at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast.

Light-welterweight Taylor’s opponent is Romanian Daniel Cosmin Minescu, who has a record of one win and four defeats.

Taylor has tasted just over six minutes of professional action in stopping his first two opponents.

The 24-year-old – who clinched gold at last year’s Commonwealth Games and also competed at the Olympics in London in 2012 – has enjoyed an impressive start to his professional career under the guidance of former WBA Lightweight champion Barry McGuigan.

Taylor turned professional this summer and stopped Archie Weah in the second round of their bout in El Paso, Texas, in July.

Then, he stopped Hungarian pugilist Adam Mate even quicker in his home debut – forcing referee John Letham to stop the bout after just 85 seconds in front of a packed Meadowbank, in Edinburgh.
