A NEW face has joined the leadership team of Prestonpans Community Council.

At the group’s annual general meeting last Tuesday, chaired by Councillor Colin Yorkston, Jane Park was elected as the new treasurer.

DJ Johnston-Smith, a historian, was re-elected as chair, while Andrew Stevenson continues as vice-chair and Janis Wilson, who also chairs the Bloomers group, remains secretary.

Jane succeeds Ferhan Ashiq, who took on the treasurer’s role temporarily in December 2024 and stood down ahead of October's election.

Mr Ashiq, a former retailer, sold Levenhall Village Store earlier this year but retains a stake in the business and now works as an independent mortgage adviser.
