A MAN who assaulted his partner at a house in North Berwick has been placed on a community payback order.
Kevin McDonald will be supervised by the social work department for the next 12 months and will have to complete 100 hours of unpaid work after he admitted to the assault.
McDonald pushed his partner to the body and repeatedly punched her to the head and body to her injury at the property on Lochbridge Road on July 18.
The 39-year-old unemployed man admitted the charge, which was prosecuted under section 1 of the Abusive Behaviour and Sexual Harm (Scotland) Act 2016 when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last month.
McDonald, of Pinkie Avenue, Musselburgh, returned to the dock, where Sheriff Wendy Sheehan issued the community payback order as a punishment.
The sheriff also agreed not to impose a non-harassment order after hearing that his partner was not in favour.
