A YOUNG person was rescued from a cliff on North Berwick Law after becoming stuck on a ledge last night.
The town's Coastguard Rescue Team were called, alongside colleagues from Dunbar, at about 7.15pm.
The person was about 25 metres above the ground when rescuers arrived.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service had also sent their rope team from Edinburgh.
Working together, they set up a rope rescue system.
A rope technician descended to the ledge and secured the person in a rescue harness.
They then lowered the person to safety.
No injuries were reported.
The Coastguard team said that the person stayed calm and called for help instead of attempting to rescue themselves.
A spokesperson for North Berwick Coastguard Rescue Team said: "This incident is a prime example of the interagency teamwork that happens on a daily basis within the emergency services, sharing skills, experience and assets to help others."
