HUNDREDS of rowers and supporters gathered for a day of coastal competition in North Berwick.
Held on the West Beach last weekend, North Berwick Rowing Club’s 16th annual regatta drew more than 300 participants and spectators, with 16 clubs from across Scotland and the north-east of England taking part.
Ann Hume, regatta officer, said: "Once again we have put on a day of races that visiting clubs and spectators have thoroughly enjoyed.
"It is good to see medals distributed around all the different clubs, which encourages people who are new to the sport."
Crews from as far afield as Coigach, Burghead and Troon competed in 10 races, with up to 18 St Ayles skiffs taking part in some events.
Competitors raced from the old pier around Craigleith Island and back, covering a distance of roughly three kilometres.
A new trophy was introduced in memory of John Irvine, a long-standing club member and coach who died earlier this year.
His widow, Kate, presented the award to the winners of the men’s over-45 category.
North Berwick Rowing Club does not present an overall club trophy, but organisers were pleased to see medals shared widely.
