A NEW session of Haddington’s History Society gets under way with a double header next week.

The session opens with a talk on Shipwreck Archaeology in the Lothians and Beyond by marine archaeologist Dan Atkinson.

The talk, which takes place next Thursday (September 3), is held at Holy Trinity Church from 7.30pm.

Entry is free of charge for society members and £3 for non-members.

The following day, Heather Holmes, ethnologist, will speak about steam ploughing in East Lothian at Papple Steading.

Admission is £5 and includes a tour of the steading and tea/coffee.

The talk gets under way at 11am and, for more information, go to johngraycentre.org
