A SUICIDE awareness training session is being organised to help people spot the signs of someone struggling.

The event, hosted by Pennypit Family and Learning Centre in Prestonpans, in partnership with Changes, is aimed at anyone who works with or comes into contact with the public.

The course will help people recognise signs of struggle, start supportive conversations and guide individuals towards help.

The organisers said: "This course builds practical skills, increases awareness and empowers you to play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing of those around you."

The event will take place next Monday (September 7), from 10.30am to 2.30pm.

Spaces are limited, so early booking is advised.

The £5 fee includes training, lunch and refreshments.

The organisers added: "Together, we can reduce stigma and support each other.

"Your awareness could be someone’s lifeline."

Tickets can be purchased through Ticket Tailor.
