A NEW housing development has received an award for construction quality.
Persimmon Homes’ Burgh Gate development, on the south-west edge of Musselburgh near to Old Craighall, has been presented with a Quality Recognition Award from Premier Guarantee, highlighting its high standards of workmanship, construction and attention to detail.
Gareth Lewis, project manager at Burgh Gate, said: "We're delighted to see Burgh Gate recognised with this award.
"It reflects the care and attention that has gone into the development throughout construction.
"It’s a great endorsement of the standards being achieved here in Musselburgh and something everyone involved can be proud of."
Burgh Gate will deliver 473 new energy-efficient homes, including two-bedroom flats and four-bedroom detached properties.
Of these, 118 homes will be transferred to a local housing association to help support people in housing need.

The project is led by Mr Lewis with support from site managers Keith Ritchie and Marcel Kiernozycki.
A spokesperson has said that the team has worked closely with contractors to ensure quality standards have been met throughout the build.
