COMMUNITY councillors have paid tribute to “a well-kent face” in Dunbar.
Tom Anderson was a founding member of Dunbar Trades’ Association and Dunbar and District History Society.
A dad, grandfather and great grandfather, he was born in a flat on the town’s High Street.
Except for national service, his life and work was in Dunbar, taking over the family business of Knox Newsagents on High Street and running it for 37 years before retiring.
He had a wide range of interests, including gardening and the history of Dunbar and the High Street.
Mr Anderson was also the first ever recipient of the Community Council Award in 1995.
He died peacefully at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh on July 8 at the age of 99.
Tribute was paid to him at a recent meeting of Dunbar Community Council.
