All the events still to come at Heart of Dunbar Festival 2026

THE curtain comes down on the inaugural Heart of Dunbar Festival this weekend.

The event, which follows in the tradition of Dunbar Civic Week, got under way on Saturday.

Between now and Sunday, when the event comes to a close, there are plenty of activities for people from throughout the town and beyond to enjoy.

On Thursday, children up to the age of four are invited to Dunbar Parish Church Hall from 9.30am to 11.30am.

Numbers are restricted for health and safety reasons, and more information can be found at dunbarparishchurch.org

On the same day, Dunbar Club and Community Sports Hub is offering people the chance to try a variety of different sports at Hallhill.

Hockey, rugby, golf, tennis, badminton and more will be on offer from 6pm.

On Friday, coffee will be served at Dunbar Parish Church Hall from 2pm to 3.30pm.

Then, from 6pm to 8pm, at the Station Yard Micropub, there is a chance to enjoy music from Stellar Anderson Project.

From 7pm to 9pm, try to beat the robot at the town’s Bleachingfield Centre.

Also, Barbarella Beets Big Community Dinner is served at Lauderdale Park.

On Saturday, there is a chance to try eco printing at Lauderdale Park from 10am, while there is a free Warhammer painting workshop from the same time at Lynxhead Art on the town’s High Street.

Thirty minutes later, there is a chance to enjoy some sketching at Dunbar Harbour.

Mark McCluskey will be providing music at the Station Yard Micropub from 8pm.

Finally, on Sunday, there is a daytime disco at Lauderdale Park from 11am, with tickets available from skiddle.com/whats-on/Edinburgh/Lauderdale-Park-Dunbar/Big-Bairns-Little-Bairns-Mixtape/42487517

Also from 11am, there is the August Dunbar Food and Craft Market in the park.

Later in the day, there is the Hoolie in the Park from 5pm (tickets at skiddle.com/whats-on/Edinburgh/Lauderdale-Park-Bayswell-Road-Dunbar-EH42-1AB/Hoolie-in-the-Park/42581841) with gospel singing at Dunbar Day Centre from 6pm.
