A FAST course taking runners from Meadowmill to Musselburgh resulted in quick times at the Scottish Half Marathon on Sunday.
Dedicated supporters lined the streets and coastline of East Lothian, despite rain making a few appearances throughout the day, as they cheered on more than 4,500 runners.
The event began with the 10k, which started and finished at Musselburgh Racecourse, taking participants through Prestonpans and then back again.
The half marathon then set off at 11am from Meadowmill Sports Centre, before runners made their way along the A198 and through Longniddry, reaching the coast and making their way towards the entrance of Gosford House.
They then turned around and headed west along the coast road, reached Cockenzie and Port Seton, made their way along Prestonpans High Street and completed the challenge at Musselburgh Racecourse.
First to cross the finish line was Jamie Crowe with a time of 1h04m19s. The Central Athletics Club member has had a very successful month, winning the Mull Half Marathon just two weeks prior.
Runner-up Sean Chalmers finished in 1h06m and Robert Hudson completed the men's top three in 1h07m35s.
Richard Kitto represented North Berwick Runners and placed 29th in a race with thousands of competitors.
Rachel Laurie took victory in the woman’s field, clocking 1h16m19s for The Chichester Runners & AC.
In second was Grace Tindall (1h19m04s).
Entries are already open for next year, scheduled for August 15.
