AN OPPORTUNITY is being offered to take the helm of an established pub at the heart of Prestonpans.

Trust Inns is looking for someone to serve “a loyal local customer base” at The Dasher.

Earlier this year, the business, on the town’s Hawthorn Road, was listed for £280,000 by Christie and Co.

According to Trust Inns: “The business primarily generates revenue through drinks sales, offering a range of beers, ales, wines, spirits and soft drinks.

“A basic food offering is currently available, supported by a compact catering kitchen, with potential to expand into a stronger dining proposition.

“The pub provides a welcoming social environment with opportunities for events, themed evenings and community activities.

“With its existing reputation, facilities and strong catchment area, the business offers significant scope for growth under new ownership.”

The Dasher is described as occupying “a strong community location” and it is noted as benefiting from “excellent” transport links, including rail services to Edinburgh and easy access to the A1.

It reads: “Arranged over ground-floor level, featuring an open-plan trading area with a central bar, flexible seating, customer facilities, storage and a compact catering kitchen, the property also benefits from a rear beer garden, enhancing its trading capacity.

“Fixtures and fittings are included, providing a turnkey opportunity for owner occupation or investment.”
