A DEDICATED volunteer has been recognised for her hard work and commitment to supporting customers and staff at The Fraser Centre.
Carol Skye has been “a real asset” to the team since joining in 2022, giving her time to help at the cinema and with a range of events.
She has now been named as the centre's Volunteer of the Year 2026.
Carol described the centre, which is at the heart of the Tranent community, as “the best place to volunteer”.
It offers arts and entertainment, as well as an activity programme including ‘friendly Fridays’ which gives local residents the chance to connect, a youth club, senior movement sessions, dementia group and a mental health café.
Carol said: “I feel like I am giving back to the local community, and I enjoy working as part of a great team.
“It's also such fun!”
In particular, she likes meeting cinema audiences and helping them to make the most of their experience.
