LIFE-SAVING equipment gives Cockenzie and Port Seton residents “reassurance that help is never far away”.
A day of live music this weekend hopes to fund one more defibrillator for the area.
EH32 Live is hosting ‘Northern Soul Day’ as part of its free summer festival at Cockenzie House and Gardens on Saturday, supporting the good cause.
A line up of DJs will entertain visitors throughout the day from 2pm until 8pm, featuring Scott Beattie, Dave Clark, Mark Brown, Derek Robertson, Andy Bailie, Niamh Rayfield and Tony Rayfield.
Entry is free and there will be plenty of food and drinks on offer, with the bar open between noon and 8pm.
A raffle will be held on the day, with QR codes to donate directly, and money raised will go towards maintaining seven defibrillators located throughout Cockenzie and Port Seton, as well as hopefully paying for an additional one to be fitted at Long Craigs.
The current equipment is available at CFA Archaeology, West Harbour Road; Port Seton Harbour; Links Road Garage; Port Seton Centre, South Seton Park; Alder Road; Cockenzie Primary School, Osbourne Terrace; Harbours Medical Practice, Avenue Road, Cockenzie; and Thorntree Inn, Cockenzie High Street.
They are maintained by the Kidd family, including replacing pads and batteries to keep them rescue-ready, which comes at a cost.
