PARAMEDICS, firefighters, lifeboat and Coastguard volunteers worked together to rescue a man who hurt his ankle.
Emergency services were called out last night (Sunday) after the 23-year-old was injured at a cave near Dunbar’s swimming pool.
Lifeboat volunteers were alerted at about 9.25pm and were on the scene within a matter of minutes.
A spokesperson for the crew confirmed that they were joined by emergency services.
He said: “The man and his companion had come to Dunbar for the day from Edinburgh and were exploring the 'eye cave' when he suffered a suspected sprained ankle.
“After assessing the extent of his injury and establishing he could still walk, the lifeboat crew, along with Coastguard teams from Dunbar and North Berwick, called for Dunbar Fire and Rescue Service to assist with a ladder.
“After the fire crew safely helped the man down, he was further assessed by waiting paramedics.”
Lifeboat volunteers returned to the harbour at about 10.15pm.
