SUSPECTED ordnance has been discovered near the mouth of the River Tyne.
Members of the public have been asked to stay away from the area while investigations take place.
Part of the estuary close to the mouth of the river, near to John Muir Country Park and Dunbar Beach, is currently closed off.
East Lothian Council posted a public information update on its Facebook page just before 11.30am.
The area of the discovery is "tidal and not easily accessible".
