A NEW session of Tranent and District Inner Wheel Club got off to a flying start with a coffee morning in the garden, bringing together friends for an enjoyable afternoon while supporting a good cause.
During the final meeting of the last session, president Carol Wood presented a cheque for £1,000 to Port Seton Rescue Ponies before the group heard a talk from Julie Golding of St Columba’s Hospice Charity about innovate ways of funding.
She was awarded with a cheque for £250.
Carol then presented incoming president Wilma Mees with her chain of office for the upcoming year.
The first session of the new session was then held in Wilma’s garden, raising money for her chosen charity Alzheimer’s Scotland.
More than 800 guests enjoyed home-baked treats and a tombola, helped by good weather to showcase the new president’s “stunning” outdoor space.
In total, they were able to raise £2,015, which the group were “delighted” with.
