EH32 LIVE returns to Cockenzie this summer, featuring back-to-back weekends of live music, youth project work and community entertainment.
Running every Saturday and Sunday until the end of August, the festival days take place in the grounds of Cockenzie House & Gardens, except on the first weekend of each month, when the venue hosts its popular Retro Fair.
Now in its sixth year, the event continues to grow in popularity and was named best community event in Scotland at the Scottish Event Awards in April.
Craig Hodgson, event organiser, said: "It’s a fantastic achievement for everyone involved and reflects the incredible support the event receives from local residents, performers and visitors."
One of the key features of the programme is the weekly jam session, hosted by Prestonpans musician Stuart Wilson.
The sessions are open to both established bands and individual performers, and aim to offer "a relaxed setting where musicians can collaborate, improvise and perform live".
Organisers have also confirmed that applications will open this week for the annual summer youth music project.
Open to young people from S1 to S6 across the county, the free initiative gives participants the chance to take part in a “build-a-band” programme, learning to perform together while also exploring areas such as logo design and merchandise creation with guidance from a professional art tutor.
Attendees are also reminded that anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult, with parents and guardians responsible for supervising children at all times.
In a statement made on social media after the first event, organisers said that they had experienced issues with young people attempting to enter without adults, which they said had caused disruption and resulted in harassment of staff.
The statement continued: “This behaviour is completely unacceptable and has a real impact on our team, security staff and the event as a whole.
“We are a small community music event run by people who put a lot of time and effort into making it happen, and we ask everyone to respect the rules and the space we have created.”
Festival activities begin at noon each day, with live music starting from 2pm, as well as food and drink, including a licensed bar, available throughout the day.
EH32 Live organisers also paid thanked the support of Cockenzie House & Gardens and local sponsors including Platinum Property Services, Andy Can The Handyman, Hard Graft Garden Services and UMEGA Letting Agency for their support.
