THE opening of East Lothian’s first PureGym has been delayed.
The fitness chain, which has more than 460 branches across the country, was due to open in Haddington on Thursday.
However, the firm took to social media to highlight that the opening had now been pushed back “due to unforeseen circumstances”.
PureGym already has planning permission to open in a section of the town’s former Aldi store.
The supermarket moved from the site off Whittingehame Drive to Haddington Retail Park almost five years ago.
Since then, the building has been divided, with Screwfix and Toolstation moving into part of the building.
Once open, PureGym will be open 24/7 and give access to “top-quality equipment and high-quality personal trainers”.
A spokesperson from PureGym said: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, the opening of PureGym Haddington has unfortunately been delayed.
“We know just how eager our members are to workout and feel their best, which is why we've given them all temporary access to our other UK gyms up until PureGym Haddington is able to officially open.
“We're hoping this will be very soon and in the meantime will be hosting previews of the gym so that the local community can check out the amazing facilities we'll have on offer.
“We'd like to thank our members for their understanding and look forward to welcoming them through the doors very soon!"
