Parked car hit and left blocking road in North Berwick

The incident happened at about 5pm, when a parked black Mazda was struck by another vehicle, leaving the damaged car obstructing the carriageway.

An eyewitness said that the driver of the blue Vauxhall which hit the Mazda was “shaken up but OK”; no injuries have been confirmed.

Police have cordoned off the entrance connecting Dunbar Road to St Baldred's Road and are currently on scene.

An ambulance is also in attendance.

The eyewitness added: "This car is one of a number that’s been parked on St Baldreds Road for long periods of time since the parking [charges were] introduced.

"In the past week, the road has been busy most of the day, with people parking to avoid the chaos.

"With cars parked both sides, it’s only a matter of time before a child is hit crossing the road from the Lodge [Grounds]."

Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
