Sporting Memories groups visit Newcastle's St James Park

The visit saw 30 members exploring St James' Park and all the 52,000-capacity stadium had to offer.

Members also had the chance to draw comparisons between the state-of-the-art home changing rooms and the more functional visitor facilities.

The stadium tour concluded with a visit to Shearer's Bar, named after the legendary striker, following some photographic moments in the media area.

The group took the opportunity to remember Iby Robertson, Dunbar Sporting Memories' lead volunteer for many years, who passed away recently.

Sporting Memories sessions foster social interaction amongst older adults through sport-related chats, local events, musical reminiscences, quizzes and guest speakers from the world of sport and entertainment.

There are five Sporting Memories groups in East Lothian: Haddington, Longniddry, Musselburgh, Dunbar and North Berwick; all are open to new members.
