CLARK Community Choir, based in Musselburgh, celebrated another successful year at its AGM, where members reflected on recent achievements and charitable contributions.
Chairwoman Samantha Windram, who was re-elected at the meeting, highlighted a year of community impact, including taking home an East Lothian Courier Community Champion award, performing a joint concert with visitors from Champigny-sur-Marne as part of Musselburgh's twinning celebrations, and staging a sold-out Christmas pantomime set in snowy East Lothian.
During the AGM, choir members welcomed Alan Bell, manager of Recharge Tranent, and Jill Jeans, CEO of Changes East Lothian, to receive a donation in recognition of their organisations' contributions to the community.
The choir, which operates as a registered charity, selects different organisations to support each year.
Past beneficiaries include Musselburgh Meeting Centre, East Lothian Foodbank and the Hollies Community Hub.
Ms Jeans said: “Changes are so grateful for this kind donation of £200 and the support of the Clark Community Choir, especially in this 30th anniversary year for Changes East Lothian, as we are aiming to fundraise £30,000 to help us celebrate our longevity throughout 2026.
"It is a great achievement to get to this milestone as a charity, especially given the current challenging financial climate.
"We are always looking for kind donations like this as they enable us to offer more services for the local community."
Mr Bell welcomed the support for Recharge, a Tranent-based youth organisation, saying: “Recharge would like to say a big thanks to the Clark Community Choir for selecting us as one of their charities and giving the generous donation.
"This money will be spent supporting local young people in the Tranent area and will allow us to provide support that we would not have previously been able to.”
Open to all, the choir requires no auditions and offers free attendance.
