Car crashes into front garden of home in Port Seton

Firefighters, paramedics and police all rushed to the crash site on Long Craigs at around 7.50am, with one police car and a fire engine still present at about 9.40am.

Eyewitnesses reported that the driver, who is understood to live on a nearby street, appeared to take a “wrong turn” before veering off the road and into the garden.

One witness said: “Everyone is alright, it was just an accident.”

The driver, who was treated and discharged by paramedics at the scene, appeared shaken but otherwise without any major injuries.

The car sustained damage to the front, with the bonnet dented and lifted.

It was removed from the scene by recovery vehicles at about 9.30am.

A shed in the front garden was damaged in the crash, which saw the car come to rest on a gravel area at the front of the house.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that three fire engines had been called out, as well as “multiple special resources”.

Police Scotland has been approached for comment.
