THE long-serving husband-and-wife duo at the helm of a much-loved North Berwick pub are today (Saturday) pulling their last pints.
Brian, 65, and Carol Millar, 58, who have run the Golfers Rest on High Street for more than 20 years, are having their final day behind the High Street bar.
The last meals from their kitchen, including Brian’s famous “monster” steak pie, have been served.
Reflecting on the popularity of the pub over the years, Brian said: "It's been good.
"We have had our ups and downs like any business but it's been a good few years.

"All the regulars are moaning about not getting their pie - sometimes we go through a three-kilo batch in two hours."
He gave thanks to the dedicated staff members and customers who have supported them throughout the years.
Looking forward to Saturday's celebrations, Brian said that all the regulars would be in for one last celebration, adding: "It'll be a case of when the stock is done, it's done."
Brian also spoke about life after the pub, revealing that the couple were planning a short break soon after stepping down before looking to their next career move.

It was a shock to many in the town when Punch Pubs, owners, decided to not renew the Millars’ tenancy.
Brian said: “We are off to Kos for two weeks, so that's why we can't stay for a bit longer.
"We are relieved in a way now because we've not got a lease to sell or legal fees, so we are getting it pretty easy I would say."
He pondered the pub’s future and said it was a shame to see traditional pubs disappear from the town.
He added: "We're still a busy pub and when their [Punch Pubs' refurbishment] work commences they're going to miss all the summer golf [trade], they'll miss the World Cup [trade]."
Thanking the Millars for their years serving in the town, Liz Allan, North Berwick Coastal Ward councillor, said: "Local pubs are a vital part of local communities, but for those who run them it is more a way of life than a job.
"You really do need an incredible amount of commitment, energy and passion for the job.
"It's clear that Carol and Brian have all those qualities and have done an amazing job. They will be missed.
"I'm sure we all wish them all the best and great happiness and success for the future."
While the Millars will officially hand over the keys to Punch Pubs on May 5, the pair are closing ahead of time to ensure all loose ends are tied up.
The pub is set to re-open next month under an interim manager.
A major refurbishment, complete with a new food and drinks offering, is expected to follow.
Jason Moran, Punch Pubs Operations Manager, said: “After 20 wonderful years, we can confirm that Brian and Carol Millar will be leaving The Golfers Rest. We want to extend a huge thank you to both of them for their hard work and dedication to running an excellent pub, and we wish them the very best in their next venture.
“I’m pleased to say that the pub will remain open under temporary management, with the existing team that guests know and love, before closing in June for a planned investment with Punch. We understand how important this pub is to the local community, and it remains our priority to ensure it continues to thrive for many years to come.
“The investment will reestablish the pub as a thriving hub, retaining its authenticity and Scottish roots while remaining at the heart of the community. We look forward to sharing more updates very soon.”
