THE Brunton Theatre Trust has unveiled a packed spring programme featuring Gordon Strachan, Newton Faulkner and children's concerts.
The programme will be staged at The Brunton's venues at the Corn Exchange in Haddington and in Musselburgh.
Football enthusiasts can look forward to May 7, when former Scotland player and manager Gordon Strachan will discuss his illustrious career at the Corn Exchange.
Strachan, noted for his successful stints with Aberdeen, Manchester United and Leeds United, will share anecdotes from his playing days and time as Scotland manager.
The former player's talk, 'My Life in Football', is expected to be an engaging account of his journey in the sport.
Music lovers will also have much to anticipate.
Newton Faulkner, known for his debut album Hand Built By Robots, will bring his Feels Like Home Tour 4 to the Corn Exchange on May 15.
With a new album, Octopus, recently released, the concert promises to be a treat for fans.
The Brunton’s team has also prepared an array of family-friendly events.
The Children's Classic Concerts’ Big Top Brass, performed by Thistle Brass and presented by Owen Gunnell, will take place on May 16 at 3pm at the Corn Exchange.
The concert, featuring live magic and musical acrobatics, is set to entertain the whole family.
For younger audiences, Artie’s Singing Kettle will perform on June 6, marking Artie's 10-year solo career.
The show will feature audience participation and feel-good favourites like Tattie Soup, Buy Me A Banana, Little Bunny Fou Fou, and Shove Yer Granny Aff A Bus.
The Brunton Theatre Trust, currently without a permanent venue, continues to host events in alternative venues in Musselburgh.
Northesk Church, renowned for its acoustic quality, will host the Brunton’s Bite-Sized Concert series.
On May 12, Stewart Hardy (fiddle) and Frank McLaughlin (guitar), a renowned duo known for their expert musicianship, will perform.
Their music, steeped in the traditions of Scotland, the Borders and north-east England, promises a unique listening experience.
On June 16, award-winning composer and pianist Adam Heron will deliver a solo piano recital.
Heron, who gained international recognition following his 2018 television debut as a BBC Young Musician piano finalist, is expected to deliver a memorable performance.
The Siobhan Miller Trio, featuring one of Scotland’s most celebrated folk singer-songwriters, will perform at Northesk Church on June 3.
The trio, comprising guitar and fiddle accompaniment, will offer an intimate listening experience.
The Brunton is also set to welcome Glasgow's acclaimed theatre company Company of Wolves for a performance of The Bacchae at Loretto Theatre in Musselburgh on May 26.
The solo, retelling the myth of Dionysos, written and performed by Ewan Downie, promises a transformative journey from repression and denial to renewal and release.
The Brunton’s film programme will continue at Loretto Theatre, featuring new releases such as The Drama on May 13, Glenrothan on May 27, Michael on June 3, and The Devil Wears Prada 2 on June 17.
The National Theatre Live screening of The Playboy of the Western World is scheduled for May 28.
