A TRANENT resident has been told to pay a fine after he acted aggressively during an incident near his home.

Brian Golightly behaved in a threatening or abusive manner, shouted and swore during the disturbance with a former partner on the town’s Coronation Court.

Golightly also breached a court-imposed non-harassment order where he was prohibited from contacting with the woman when he approached her on April 3 last year.

Golightly, 58, pleaded guilty to both offences when he appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Tuesday.

Sheriff Alison Stirling admonished him on the non-harassment order breach but imposed a fine of £245 for behaving aggressively towards the woman.
