A YELLOW weather warning for “very strong winds” has been published ahead of Easter weekend.

The Met Office has issued the warning, which covers the entirety of mainland Scotland.

The warning is due to be in place from 6pm on Saturday through to noon the following day.

According to the Met Office, “very strong winds” may “cause some damage and travel disruption”.

The warning highlights that there could be damage to buildings, “a slight chance” that power cuts could occur and there could be delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport.
