YOUNG bakers from Musselburgh Grammar School have come up with their own carrot cake cookie, which is being sold over Easter.

As part of an enterprise project between the school’s business department and The Company Bakery at Eskmills, S3 pupils were invited to create a new kind of cookie.

A school spokesperson said: “This type of project is really important for pupils to put the business theories they are learning in school into practice, and their feedback on the collaboration has been incredibly positive.

“Thanks to Hollie Reid of the Company Bakery for all the time and expertise she has invested in us, and for bringing the subject of business to life for them, including supply change, logistics, costings, profit margins and the importance of marketing,” they added.

Connor Lynn, teacher of business education, has been working with his S3 class and the Company Bakery. This group’s product was chosen by the bakery as winners.

“We are very proud to say that now on sale at The Company Bakery over this Easter weekend will be a cookie created by S3 pupils Evie Borrill, Zachariah Ng and Lacey Kerr. If you are in the area over the weekend, please support the new product and pop in to buy a delicious cookie,” the school spokesperson said.
