A QUAICH will be raised on Saturday in a traditional ceremony to mark the start of a new fishing season on the River Tyne.
The Rev Gordon Stevenson, of Dunbar Parish Church, will bless the river, which cuts through much of the county.
East Lothian Angling Association (ELAA) is looking to encourage new families to try out fishing.
The opening day event takes place from 1pm on the grass area below the Waterloo Bridge in Haddington.
A welcome will be given at 1.15pm before the blessing of the river, where a quaich of whisky is poured into the water for the new season.
The first cast on the river will take place at 1.35pm before casting instructions and discussions take place.
