DOZENS of women are lacing up their running shoes as part of a new exercise initiative.
Run For Her was created by nurse Molly Mabberley and personal trainer Delphi Doig.
They know each other through the Sports + Fitness HUB, based near East Links Family Park.
Running together, they had encouraged other ladies from the HUB to join them and soon found they were being joined by up to a dozen women for the sessions.
From there, it has only gathered momentum, with the sessions now open to all women in Dunbar and the surrounding area.

Molly said: “Delphi is great at social media and is really good at that side of things.
“We launched our Instagram page in about December time and our first post was about a run club and launching our name.
“We got 10,000 views within a day and it spiralled!”
The group is aimed at any woman who is keen to take on a run, rather than women who are necessarily training for a specific event.
It is hoped that the camaraderie between the women will encourage others to join up and enjoy the exercise.
Molly added: “At Run For Her, there’s no single reason to show up.
“Your reason is yours, and it’s valid.
“Your pace is yours, and it’s perfect.
“Your story is yours, and it belongs here.
“This club is built on women supporting women; a space where we show up as we are, run with what we carry and find power in the steps we take together.
“Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned runner, if you’re searching for community, confidence, or a moment that’s just for you.
“This is your place.”
Currently, the group meets on the last Sunday of each month at Wishing Tree by the Sea, in Dunbar’s Lauderdale Park, with runners encouraged to head along this weekend.
The group meets at 10am before a short-warm up.
Then, runners will begin their session at about 10.15am before returning to the café to enjoy a coffee an hour later.
Molly explained her journey into running and said: “I got into Couch to 5K a few years back and had never really run at all.
“To do that, then I had my third little baby and everything went to pot after that.
“She is three now and in the last couple of years I got back into running and last year I ran an ultramarathon.
“We did that together [Molly and Delphi] and ran the John Muir Ultra, we ran 50K in November and I had never been a runner before but I got the bug.”
